Sixth Grade Dance = Huge Success!

The 6th Grade Dance was wild and a great time for all of the kids who went to it. The music was cranked at full blast, playing songs by Ke$ha, Will.i.am, and L.M.F.A.O with snacks such as red vines, cookies, popcorn, and beverages such as water and lemonade.

An anonymous student said, “It was wild and supervised. It was great!”

“The photobooth was my favorite part,” said a sixth grader named Alyssa.

The same anonymous student also said, “My favorite song was probably ‘Party rock anthem.’” The majority of 6th graders interviewed agreed with him.

Although the dance was a huge hit, there have been a few complaints about how loud the music was and that it should have been turned down.

Most sixth graders agree, the dance was a huge, wild, and fun success.

I send waves but not of water, can instate any kind of emotion, sit in your pocket or in your car. What am I?

December Poetry By Juliette  Cold sting of winter air Bites with frozen jaws at the Warmth of our small toes Made it out of clay And when it’s dry and ready Dreidel I shall play We wake up to that Lovely smell of Christmas pine And the early fog Snow fades beneath feet Snowflakes glide to eyelashes Cocoa burns young tongues Crisp rips of paper Bows torn off, smiles then brighten Makes a happy mess My dry, old hands soothe My very chapped lips that sting Looking for chapstick Holidays are done Appreciative of my gifts Leaving family  Gg

Body Shaming by Juliette

In celebration of national poetry month (April), here is a slam poem. Slam Poetry is a type of competition where people read their poems without props, costumes, or music. This is a poem about body shaming. And now, without further ado I present to you, "You won't Understand." You Won't Understand By Juliette             Why. Why do we show them that this is the way? We teach the wrong, when we should be teaching the right Why do we tell them to live like this? It's gotten to a point, that's not human anymore But the problem isn't in what we say, It's what we see and show. Somehow, someone, somewhere said that this is the ideal, And this is attractive, But it blew up and became radioactive. Why do we starve ourselves to the point of death? Skipping meals to get a decent photograph Why do we spend money to look like the ones that are ruining themselves? Earning just to be spending, doesn't make sense Why do we want to be the...
