The Monthly Review - Murder on the Orient Express By Raphaela

* * * * * I loved reading this murder mystery by Agatha Christie. She is personally one of my favorite authors, she always keeps you on your tippy toes. Murder on the Orient Express is about a detective named Hercule Poirot. M. Poirot is taking the orient express from Istanbul back to England. During the night the train is stopped in a snowdrift, and in the morning Mr. Ratchet (one of the passengers) is found dead. The ending of the novel is so unexpected that you should seen it all along. I absolutely recommend this fabulously written book.

The Little Prince Review By Raphaela

One of this month's reviews is the Little Prince, which was put on by the Marin Theatre Company. They were kind enough to invite the sixth grade to come and see the play. For those who do not yet know it is about a prince who came down to earth from another planet and tells a stranded Aviator about his adventure through space and his home that he had left. The story was originally a book by Antoine de saint-Exupery, who like the aviator in the production was also a pilot. The little prince was  acted by Elissa Beth Stebbins, the pilot was played by Geno Monteiro, the Snake and rose were by Isabelle Ellingson and the fox and the men on the other planets were by Lizzie Calogero. I personally enjoyed watching the performance but the ending might bring tears to your eyes. I thought that it was very well acted and that it was cleverly written. Even though it only played in the theatre from december twelfth to the twentieth. I think that anyone who would watch it would love the produc...

El Niño By Raphaela

An El Niño is when the ocean becomes much warmer leading to strong rains and sometimes snow. By now it does not matter if it get stronger or weaker it is going to happen. NASA shows that the water in the western pacific is getting colder and that it is warming in the Eastern. Meaning the El Niño  will probably hit this winter. Reservoirs are near to empty, but the warming of the pacific ocean could help by causing an El Niño. Rain might help the drought but brings the risk of huge storms  and floods that could cause chaos and destruction. There are upsides and downsides but the state needs rain. It is going to be raining cats and dogs so don’t step in a poodle.
